This autumn, Banbury Museum & Gallery has been nominated by Museum Volunteer Peter Hansford as one of three charities to be supported by the Waitrose/JL Partnership here in Banbury, as part of their ‘Communities Matter’ initiative.
This nationwide project has helped donate over £50 million pounds by Waitrose shoppers to projects that matter to them in their local area.
Waitrose shoppers can put green voting tokens in the boxes against the three chosen charitable causes that mean the most to them. The cause with the most green tokens will be awarded £1500, the second placed cause will receive £1000 and the third placed £500. The token box will be in the Banbury Waitrose store until January.

Peter has chosen the Frank Wise School and our neighbours, The Mill Arts Centre along with the museum to be the recipients of the donations. We are grateful to Peter for nominating us and thrilled that all three wonderful causes will benefit from generous Banbury shoppers.
As a charity, Banbury Museum & Gallery relies on its community and supporters to keep our services and experiences accessible for as many people as possible. The donation from Waitrose/ JL Partnership will help us create inspiring family programming, fund free children’s activities, and support our education and outreach activities.
Your token deposit will help us to ensure that future generations can enjoy learning, exploring, and making memories together at their local museum.
If you are passing through the store, please take a moment to drop a token into our box.
