The Rosemarie Higham Library

A Community Resource from Banbury Historical Society

Refurbished in 2021 and opened in 2022, the Rosemarie Higham Library contains over 1000 catalogued books and publications which relate to the history of Banbury, Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.

Additional works cover historical, archaeological, genealogical, geological and heraldic subjects, with reference works on canals, railways, furniture, paintings, pottery, silver, clocks to name just a few.

Further cataloguing work is being carried out on the collection of photographs, newspaper cuttings and maps is currently talking place and will be made public once completed.

If you would like to visit the library and use the collection, it is open weekly:
Thursday: 2-4pm
Saturday: 2-4pm (subject to staffing)
Access is managed by Banbury Historical Society and opening to the public is made possible by their team of volunteers. One of who will be on hand to help and show you how to use the collection if you visit.
