Opening this March, Banbury Museum & Gallery invites you on a journey through the eyes of some of the world’s most talented photographers.
From 29th March to 6th July 2025, Banbury Museum & Gallery will be the first venue in the UK to host the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition, showcasing the winning images from the 2024 competition, highlighting the very best in contemporary travel photography.

The Travel Photographer of the Year competition has been running for over 20 years, with over 157 countries and 56 nationalities of photographers represented over the previous two decades. For this year’s competition, amateur and professional photographers from more than 150 countries submitted more than 20,000 images.
Featuring over 50 images, including some of the most outstanding winning images from the 2024 competition, the exhibition highlights the beauty, diversity, and resilience of our planet. This collection offers a rare opportunity to see the latest in award-winning travel photography, capturing fresh perspectives from around the globe. With stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures to intimate portraits and wildlife in action promising a rich tapestry of stories captured across continents

“This exhibition is a celebration of the power of photography to connect us with the world, and we are thrilled that Banbury Museum & Gallery is the first venue in the UK to host the Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 competition,” says Dale Johnston, Exhibitions Manager.
Younger people will find inspiration with the Under 18 categories which showcase the incredible talent of the next generation. For our youngest visitors, an interactive gallery trail offers an engaging way to explore the exhibition, while all our visitors will have the opportunity to participate in our People’s Vote to select their favourite photograph from the exhibition.
Whether you’re an avid traveller, a photography enthusiast, or someone who simply appreciates the beauty of the world, this exhibition promises to inspire with the many stories it tells.
Travel Photographer opens on Saturday 29th March 2025 and will run until Sunday 6th July 2025.
