The story of Emigration from Oxfordshire and neighbouring Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire 1815 – 1914
The story begins with the voyages of Captain Cook, which led to the provision of new places for penal colonies in Australia. Free emigration also gathered steam in the 1850’s, followed by the Great Exodus from 1850.
