Ironstone Art Prize

The Ironstone Art Prize

The Ironstone Art Prize showcases the best recent work by artists from this region. Artwork in any medium or mixed media, including paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, glass, textiles and metalwork, will be considered.

A panel of independent judges with professional art backgrounds select work for the exhibition as well as deciding the winners of the Ironstone Art Prize and the Ironstone Under 21s Prize. The winners will be announced at the private view. All artists with work featured in the exhibition will receive invitations to the private view.

In previous years, the competition has had prizes totalling £1000 to compete for:

An Update: The Ironstone Art Prize returns in 2024

Having been postponed from 2020, due to challenges of the Covid pandemic and subsequent programming clashes, we are delighted to announce, it will now return in 2024.

First round entries will take place in the of Autumn 2023 with final judging and selection in January 2024. The exhibition is scheduled to take place between February – March 2024.

Details of the rules of entry will be released closer to the time, but whilst we normally stipulate that artwork must have been created in the two years prior to submission, for this competition we will extend this back to March 2020.

There may have been some great new work produced during the intervening years, so we are anticipating a particularly competitive Ironstone Art Prize 2024!

We look forward to seeing your entries.
