The Ironstone Art Prize showcases the best recent work by artists from this region. Artwork in any medium or mixed media, including paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, glass, textiles and metalwork, will be considered.
A panel of independent judges with professional art backgrounds will select work for the exhibition as well as deciding the winners of the Ironstone Art Prize and the Ironstone Under 21s Prize. The winners will be announced at the private view on Thursday 30 January. All artists with work featured in the exhibition will receive invitations to the private view.
The competition has prizes totalling £1000 to compete for, including:
The Ironstone Art Prize winner
The Ironstone Under 21s winner
The People’s Prize winner
Just some of the work exhibited in years gone by...
The Ironstone Art Prize is growing. The selection process will be in two stages with work viewed in the preliminary stage as images, to reduce travel and handling.
Artists may enter up to four pieces of work using the entry form on the museum’s website up to 22 November. One image should be submitted for each artwork (if you are submitting 3D work please feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org ONE additional image showing a different angle). If you encounter any difficulties or cannot access a computer, please let us know and we will try to help. Artwork does do not need to be framed at the preliminary stage.
Work that is selected for the final stage should be brought to the museum on 15 January for the judges to view it directly. Artists will be notified whether their work has been accepted or not.
