Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Banbury Museum

Banbury Museum is temporarily closed.

In light of the current situation we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily close, prioritising the health and safety of our staff and visitors.

The decision has not been easy, and it is with a heavy heart that we delay the opening of our next exhibition Brick Built. We will be reviewing these measures weekly, taking advice from the Government and Public Health England and strive to reopen as soon as possible.

Staff will be working behind the scenes to deliver a fantastic exhibition and events programme as soon it’s safe.

We will also remain accessible through our digital channels and will be continuing our communications through social media and email. Please stay in touch with us through the following:

Although the galleries have closed temporarily, we are all very much still at work, and look forward to welcoming you back soon.” Simon Townsend, Museum Director.

Event Cancellations

We have made the difficult decision to cancel our events programme until further notice. This comes after government guidance for us all to avoid gatherings (large or small) in public places and non-essential socialising. We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused but feel we must put the safety of our visitors first and protect our community and those vulnerable by adhering to all government advice issued and available to us.

We will be in touch with those who have already booked a place on an event and will be refunding all tickets in due course. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we go through this process.

We look forward to reinstating our events programmes as soon as it proves possible.
